Extension Task 1

Many Australian towns, cities and suburbs have Aboriginal names. For example; Illawong means the land between two rivers.
Task: Find and list as many names and meanings as you can.








Extension Task 2

Task: Using Google Maps and Nearmap, choose a holiday destination that you would like to visit. You need to choose a place from anywhere in Australia. This could be a place you have visited or researched.
In your workbook, draw a freehand map showing the state, terrain, surrounding rivers/mountains and significant sites to visit.
Remember to include pictures, labels and to approximately scale your map to size.
